Painting in space
Dimensions variable
2013

I constructed the triangular structures in this painting in space with lumber salvaged from demolition of a room in my basement. Other materials are also all items from my home, included many elements from previous art projects, a rug, an exercise ball, an IKEA ottoman (for which I recovered the cushion with vintage fabric), and other materials that seemed to belong to this dimensional painting. In the process of composing, the junk in my basement has equal footing with the artwork stored in my basement; both are combined with objects from my living space to create a new space that is open to the public.
