In anticipation of making work for this solo exhibition at the Maclean County Arts Center, I wanted to make a floor that lifted up off of the floor. Driving to work one day, I saw bundles of oak flooring duct taped together on the curb in front of an
historic home. The boards were splintered with nails sticking out everywhere, but I was delighted that I had found the raw material for my triangular structure. The large triangle structure in this image (about twenty feet across) is made up of nine different panels. When disassembled, it all fits in the back of my minivan.
