Mixed Media Installation > Lose the Feeling McLean County Arts Center

The title Lose the Feeling refers to the pressure to "get over" love, loss, and other emotions. As a child, I watched my mother pull up all the carpet in our home and refinish the wood floors herself. The floor I have re-made has a clean top surface, but there is unique access to the raw, splintered underside of the structure. As in many of my works, the sense of play is countered by a hint of threat or sadness.
